Mount Paul Community Food Centre
“I feel like I am contributing to something while I am here.”
A community centre built around food
Mount Paul Community Food Centre started with a relationship between the local non-profit Interior Community Services and Right To Food in 2018. The Community Food Centre is a welcoming space focused on building support in the community.
Mount Paul Community Food Centre offers a special mix of programming that includes opportunities to build cooking and food-growing skills, improve healthy food access, and engage with community members.
Here is some of what we served up in 2024:
- Over 1,000 programs were offered throughout the year, reaching a variety of populations and groups.
- Community engagement remained a priority, with program evaluations, community participation, and volunteer opportunities.
- Dedicated volunteers contributed over 16,000 hours to the Community Food Centre programs.
Programming is centred on a produce market and produce boxes, community meals, youth meals, a variety of food skills aimed at various populations, learning garden workshops and gatherings, community garden supports, and a variety of support for older adults and their independence.
