The Depot Community Food Centre became Quebec’s first Community Food Centre in 2018, building on over 30 years of service as the NDG Food Depot. As the organization grew, it evolved from a traditional food bank into a vibrant, welcoming space offering community meals, food literacy and gardening programs, and dignified access to nourishing food.

Thanks to funding and program inspiration from Right To Food—and the collective efforts of the community, staff, volunteers, and many supporters—the organization transitioned into a Community Food Centre in 2018. The Depot Community Food Centre is located on Somerled Ave in the culturally diverse community of NDG, and serves a large part of Montreal’s west end.
