Founded in 2003, Belka Enrichment Center (BEC) is a community-based organization serving the Jane-Finch, Jane-Wilson, and Oakdale Village areas—diverse neighbourhoods with a high number of Black immigrant families, seniors, and youth. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive spaces where children, youth, seniors, and families in low-income communities can access educational, social, and nutritional resources. Through programs that combine mentorship, academic support, recreation, and community engagement, we empower participants to reach their full potential. BEC operates a range of initiatives, including after-school homework clubs, youth mentorship, senior fitness programs, and food security supports. We also offer virtual and in-person sports programs such as soccer and basketball training, summer camps, and mobile computer learning initiatives to bridge digital gaps and promote lifelong learning. Our organization is built on values of equity, empowerment, and community service, striving to uplift families through education, wellness, and civic participation. For over two decades, BEC has remained committed to helping children, youth, and seniors build confidence, develop skills, and become active, inspiring members of their community.
