The Calgary Seed Library is a grassroots organization created by a group of pals. Our dream is to form a community of growers who can borrow from our seed collection and return seeds from their harvest back to it. Our values start with our golden rule; only process seed when you are in good spirits. Reciprocity: Trust and respect are reciprocated with accountability. Agency: People are given the gift of being encouraged to do only what they want to do, are passionate about, and get them excited. Come as you are: Come as your whole self, when you need to, when you want to, and how you want to. Everyone is welcome. Take breaks as needed: The seed library is committed to building community. Your needs as prioritized as much as the seeds, and often this means communicating your need to take breaks. Generational: Seeds are life passed down through generations of growth, the seed library is a way to connect with your community and the generations beforehand.
