The Central Okanagan Food Bank is dedicated to reducing food insecurity and fostering resilience among individuals and families facing financial challenges. Our mission is to provide essential nourishment with dignity and respect, while also addressing the root causes of hunger through wellness promotion, education, and systemic advocacy. We envision a community where everyone has equitable access to nutritious food, significantly diminishing the need for food banks. Our core values—respect and dignity for all, community collaboration, trust and accountability, and equitable nutrition—guide our work. We strive to create a welcoming environment free of shame, where individuals can seek help without judgment. Our comprehensive programs include the Nutrition Improvement Program, which offers tailored services such as Tiny Bundles for infants, Snack Packs for children, and Dietary Packs for specialized needs. Additionally, initiatives like More Than Food connect clients with vital resources, Food for Thought ensures that over 1,600 students receive daily meals, and Food Rescue redistributes excess food to those in need. Through these efforts, we inspire hope and foster positive change, ensuring every community member has the resources to thrive.
