The Collingwood Youth Centre is your safe space to socialize with friends and mentors where you will feel included and welcome. The CYC is for youth grade 7 to age 18 to meet in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. At CYC, we’re interested in what you’re interested in. If you want to know more about cooking, computers, drumming, drawing, or whatever you’re into, we’re here to help. We can also help you get a job or start your own business. Even if you just need someone to talk to, this is an inclusive place where you are welcomed and accepted. Like most youth centres, we always have informal drop-in time but we also offer programs for students to further pursue their passions. As an example, our commercial kitchen is open everyday for youth to learn how to cook. Every week we run regular programs for things like music, tech, art and cooking. The CYC is also the home of the Mobile Soup Kitchen. During the day the Mobile Soup Kitchen uses the commercial kitchen to prepare about 100 meals for our unhomed population.
