Food for Life’s Mission is to rescue food and impact lives. The charity rescues close to 5 million lbs of GOOD healthy food each year and distributes it to over 4500 households each week across Hamilton and Halton. Our efficient operations allow us to lever every $10 invested into $71 worth of food rescued for community. Food for Life goes beyond the traditional food bank model, aligning strong environmental stewardship (rescue food, double diversion and on-site composter) with impactful, barrier free (no proof of poverty) food distribution models. Food for Life focuses on people and the planet with a strong focus on environmental stewardship (rescue food, double diversion and on-site composter). We have been continuously recognized by Charity Intelligence as a Top 10 Impact Charity and Top 10 Food Bank. We are a trusted charity of thousands of Canadians.
