Good Shepherd Ministries (GSM) helps people who struggle with poverty and homelessness. Every day of the year, GSM offers a meal program free of charge to anyone in need; provides 107 shelter beds for homeless men; distributes toiletries & men’s clothing; and operates a medical clinic staffed by a registered nurse and partner organizations. GSM helps people find and keep housing issues through four programs: Eviction Prevention, Follow-up Support, Veterans Housing Navigation, and Resettlement. GSM offers the 25-bed DARE (Drug and Alcohol Recovery Enrichment) Program to homeless men with addictions who are seeking pre- or post-treatment services. DARE also helps its clients to find housing that promotes ongoing recovery from addictions. GSM operates two supportive residences. St. Joseph’s Residence uses a managed alcohol program and 24-hour care to house 8 frail seniors with a history of homelessness. Barrett House provides 24-hour care for 6 individuals living with HIV and AIDS.
